Speaking to human beings

Over the last 20 years we’ve stuck by a simple belief: investors are human beings too. So despite producing state-of-the-art digital reports for businesses like Sainsbury’s, Land Securities, Logica, Diageo and BP, we’re always focused on the audience and the message.

A different way of working

Three principles guide our approach:

  • 1

We consider the message, the content, and above all the audience, before the channel. Our strategists, designers and project managers work in integrated teams. There’s no gap in thinking or execution between printed and digital communications.

  • 2

Understanding people as ‘corporate stakeholders’, not as human beings, creates a barrier to communicating with them. Ingrained in our creative process is thinking about people, their cynicism, the pressures and the weight of information they face. This is why our work speaks in a clear, authentic voice.

  • 3

We ensure that all our clients have access to the experience and knowledge they need by ensuring that each of them work closely with our most senior people. Our Client Partners, with at least 15 years experience, are there at the pitch, and they’ll stay with you throughout, acting as trusted advisers.

What do our clients think?

I give you 100% for the look and for the clarity. You were able to articulate what we do in a way that hasn’t been done before. You did a great job.”

David Tyler
Chairman, Logica

I want to say how impressed I have been by your dedication and commitment to this project, both collectively and individually, but I also wanted to say just how much I have enjoyed working with you, even when the pressure was on. You have produced a report and two websites with which we are incredibly happy, and we are already getting some great feedback.”

Some of our people

Each of our Client Partners has at least fifteen years corporate communications experience. They work closely with each of our clients, from the pitch right through to delivery, acting as trusted advisers. Here are a few of them:

Adrian Parker

Adrian Parker has worked in the design and communications industry for twenty years, delivering pragmatic, original strategic solutions for a variety of clients including Logica, Diageo and Home Retail Group.  He’s developed a particular interest and expertise in corporate reporting and investor relations.  He applies it to corporate and shareholder communications, employee communications and brand engagement.

Dean Parker brings over 15 years communications experience. He combines an in-depth knowledge of user behaviour online with an understanding of usability and accessibility issues to ensure sites are intuitive to use. Dean has led website, online reporting and intranet projects for BP, Slaughter and May, Diageo, Aviva, KPMG, 3i, Logica, Home Retail Group, Sainsbury’s, Ernst & Young, BT and Land Securities. He is a regular commentator on usability issues and a judge on the Guardian CIPD Awards.

James Parsons has been with SAS for nearly 19 years. An early career as a designer mean that as well as directing complicated projects with skill and rigour, he understands the design process clearly and is able to guide clients and designers alike towards excellent outcomes. He has an especially strong record in annual reports – an area in which he’s delivered award winning work for companies like Land Securities, BT, Ericsson, Rentokil and Meggitt.

David Stocks co-founded the business and dedicates all his time to working with clients. He has twenty-five years experience in corporate communications with organisations like Sainsbury’s, BT, Ericsson and BP. He has a rare gift for distilling complexity into small drops of common sense wisdom.
